Before I start with the review, I think it might be important to explain how I rate Colleen Hoover books. Counting this one, I have read six of her books, I still have a lot to read, but of those six I have read, there is not one I have not liked. So I decided to rate them in three different positions from one to three. Books at the first position are those I consider 5 stars, second position those I consider 4.5 stars and third position 4 stars. Honestly I would rate all six 5 starts but then you won’t be able to tell which I like the most. Still I have loved them all. I’m probably making no sense, but the reality is that Mrs Hoover is a writing goddess. She has made my heart fall in love, get broken into pieces and put back together six different times. Here's what I've read so far:

1st Position (5 stars)

Ugly Love

Confess

2nd Position (4.5 stars)

It Ends with Us

November 9

3rd Position (4 stars)

Regretting You

Reminders of Him

Now onto the review of Reminders of Him.

This books follows Kenna, who has just been released from prison after five years due to a terrible accident she was involved in and pleaded guilty to. She returns to the place where it had all happened in hopes to be reunited with her now four year old daughter. She takes the risk and moves there, only to quickly realize that she may be way in over her head. Those who might recognize her from five years ago would immediately remember that terrible night and what she had done.  To make things complicated, Kenna meets Ledger, who just happens to be someone very important in the life of her daughter and the family raising her. As the two get to know each other, and over time fall for one another, life gets even more complicated. Each minute that they spent together puts at risk Kenna’s chances of meeting her daughter and for Ledger to keep being a part of her life.

I think one of the key subjects in this book is grief. Through it we get to see how different characters deal with the loss of a loved one while moving forward in life. This had me constantly feeling a bit heartbroken, but being a little more used to the writing of Colleen Hoover, I sort of expected to have my heart put back together at the end. Or at least I really hoped she would. And she did! Every character in this story has a battle within themselves, so you might feel like screaming a little, at least I did. I was so anxious I found myself yelling a bit. Don’t judge me I’m an anxious person!  You will fall for Ledger no doubt and you will most definitely feel for Kenna, specially if you are a parent. You might also feel for two other characters, who even though are the ones responsible for Kenna not being in her daughters life, you will understand why, maybe not agree, but understand to a certain point. The drama in the book will keep you sucked in and the romance is basically the icing on the cake. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy Reading!
