This is one book experience I debated wether or not to write here in the blog for the simple reason that I am so in love with this book I am suddenly self conscious of the fact that my English grammar sucks and this book doesn't deserve it when writing about it. Still after careful consideration my need to talk about it won over my bad grammar so please forgive me, but this book was soooooo good. The hype is very real and deserved. I have not felt this way about a book since I started reading again in 2020 after a whole decade of barely reading any books. From Blood and Ash was the book that got me back into reading and my obsession for that series has not been matched by any other book until now, until this masterpiece written by Rebecca Yarros.
My knowledge of this author was non until Fourth Wing started to become popular on Tik Tok, like many others, I was enamored by the gorgeous hardcover and black edges with dragons and like any respectable book addict I immediately went to purchase the book even though I still have about 200 unread books to get to. Once I started to read it I could tell this author's writing style agreed with me. The reason for it being that while I love fantasy and fantasy romance books sometimes the world building and dialogue can be a bit rough to get into and I had previous experiences were I did not enjoyed reading it even if the story was actually very good but I just felt somehow mentally tired. Not the case here at all. Learning about this world and it's characters was addicting. I did not feel at any point bored while reading. I genuinely felt like I was watching a movie or TV show, the kind that are so good you don't even want to take a bathroom break.
Another plus for the book is the characters. We get a female main character who is humble, determined and a fighter in many ways. A male main character who while at the beginning might not be your favorite person, eventually you will end up loving and it is not the type of male character that at some point you might think is a little toxic, on the contrary, he plays a big role in not only the romance on the story but of the evolution of our female lead and helping her reach her power and confidence without taking credit for it. And the dragons, man I swear that is the best part, so many dragons. The story is perfectly structured and you will be entertained all along.
